2.1.1 Introduction to Lesson 2

Welcome to Lesson 2: Primary Legal Authority in the Federal System.

In this lesson, I’ll be running through the basics of contours of the American legal system.

I’ll tell you a bit about the different legal systems that might affect intelligence operations.

But mostly I’ll be explaining what constitutes “law.”

What is the “law”?

Which government documents constitute “law” and which documents are just pieces of paper with typing on it?

How is the law arranged?

Which law is the strongest?

This lesson will provide the most basic foundation of legal knowledge you’ll need to understand before filling in the details in later lessons.
